FREMDKÖRPER- THE SOCIAL LIFE OF A STRANGE

FremdKörper speaks of reflexion and the overcoming of obstacles. A place where the foreign is utilized as a ressource. FremdKörper is a critical examination of orientalism allowing it to be unmasked as a projection. In the postmodern world the open debate about the autonomy of women is also used as a symbol of superiority of western identity. Who is the western woman though? The oriental woman is instrumentalized as a marker for national and cultural differences. A provocative and sobering evening, transforming borders into contact zones and the foreign into a meaningful experience.
