IMPRINTS OF MEMORY

IMPRINTS OF MEMORY is a collective initiative in the village of Ezerets, rooted in art and memory. The project serves as a tool for intergenerational dialogue and emotional support through sharing.

The process involves collecting personal photographs and stories from local residents. Sharing becomes an act of trust and a way of recalling our identity. Together, we create a “living archive” of Ezerets- a collective space of memory that blurs the boundaries between the past and the present.

For two weeks we transformed the abandoned community centre into a social hub, exhibition space, and art atelier.

Memory is not static; it is constantly renewed, and our encounter with it is deeply personal. The connection to the “captured moment” opens space for reflection and shared conversation. The village becomes a symbol of roots and belonging. Preserving our own memory is an act of care and awareness. We believe that understanding the past helps build a sense of wholeness in the present.

IMPRINTS OF MEMORY is an initiative of Living Museum Sofia- a social platform that uses art as a means of emotional support and connection.

The exhibition is created by Martin Atanasov, Iva Ivanova, and Simona Ganeva, and all the people who shared their photographs, stories, and time.

We thank the International Living Museum Society and the Trampoline Foundation for their support.
